Saxtrup Vingaard is located in scenic surroundings near Bjergby a few kilometers north of Hjørring and is Denmark’s northernmost commercial vineyard. The location on southwest-facing slopes provides optimal growing conditions with many hours of sunshine, shelter from small woodlands and fresh salty winds from the North Sea – ideal for the production of elegant sparkling wines.
The vineyard is cultivated 100% organically with great respect for nature, and we work hard to build and maintain biodiversity in the fields. The grapes are hand-harvested and the entire process from cultivation to vinification takes place on the farm. The main grapes include Solaris, Riesel, Hibernal, Johanniter, Muscaris, Souvignier Gris and Castel.
Visits and tours are arranged by appointment and guests are welcome to explore the fields and enjoy the winery’s “New Nordic Sparkling Wine” universe.
