Skærsøgaard Vin is the first authorised Danish vineyard, located in Dons near Kolding. The vineyard was founded and is owned by Sven Moesgaard, who is a winegrower and winemaker. There are five employees—Ben and Katharina are fully responsible for the vineyard’s day-to-day operations.
There are around 30,000 vines planted outdoors across approximately 10 hectares.

The vineyard is located in the EU’s northernmost and Denmark’s only wine region (appellation). The vineyard’s signature wine, “DONS”, has achieved the prestigious PDO certification (Protected Designation of Origin), equivalent to the French AOC or the Italian DOC. Skærsøgaard’s sparkling wines are the only product in Denmark to have achieved PDO.

Skærsøgaard’s wines reflect the Danish summer, with bright nights, slow aromatic ripening of the grapes, and classic, artisanal quality winemaking. Most of Skærsøgaard’s wines have won medals at the annual EU-regulated Danish Wine Show since 2001. In addition, since the 2006 vintage the wines have won more than 150 prestigious international medals.
