Domain Aalsgaard

Domain Aalsgaard is one of Denmark’s oldest vineyards. The first vines were planted on Ålsgårde Stationsvej back in the 1980s. In 1998, planting began in the current vineyards by Falkenbergvej in Ålsgårde, in beautiful and idyllic surroundings.

The vineyards are on south-facing slopes to maximise warmth and sunlight. Around 2,000 vines now grow here, of the varieties Madeleine Angevine, Ortega, Solaris, Souvignier gris, Siegerrebe and Kerner.

The vineyard produces only dry or semi-dry white wines.

High biodiversity is encouraged in the vineyards; no artificial fertiliser or herbicides are used. Almost all work in the fields and on the vines is done by hand and as gently as possible. No fining agents etc. are used in the winery; the wine is racked only once and stays on the lees for six months. All day-to-day work in the vineyards and winery is carried out by Lars Hagerman and Hans H. Sørensen.
