There is a special meditative calmness to working in the vineyard – from pruning the canes on a cold spring day in March, to the summer work with a warm breeze through the rows and the finale when the winemakers harvest the grapes in September and October.
The winegrowers work side by side in the rows approximately every 14 days throughout the season. The working day traditionally ends with a shared lunch, cozy chat and tasting of the vineyard’s own wines. All work is voluntary and there is great interest in growing Danish wine.
Inside the winery, a dedicated group meets every Thursday to follow the development of the wine, tasting along the way and bottling the wines when they are ready. The entire process from grapes to bottle takes place here at the winery.
Guests are warmly welcomed. We offer vineyard and winery tours for private groups and companies. A tour is booked in advance and typically lasts 1½-2 hours. The tour ends with a tasting of the winery’s wines. Price: DKK 150 per person.
The farm shop is open from Easter to the fall holidays when the winemakers are working in the field or the “Open Vineyard” sign is out.
Frederiksborg Vin is located west of Hillerød – follow the sign towards Harløse at the roundabout by Plantorama.
